Following the game, Carl Moesche of the MLB Scouting Bureau will present
All-Star Game awards (as voted on by the scouts in attendance), and then the
Corvallis Knights will wrap the evening with a spectacular fireworks show!
The Corvallis Knights will provide scouts with contact info for all the
WCL All-Stars and a schedule of WCL games for the balance of the season.

All Star Event
All Star Roster Nomination Process
• East and West All-Star team to both roster 21 players, including 10
pitchers. Two-way players count as pitchers.
• Pitchers are limited to one inning pitched.
• Each member team is to conduct a fan vote to select for one automatic
All-Star from its team. This vote assures that each team has an All-Star.
• The WCL president will ask member head coaches to nominate their team’s
All-Stars.
• A league communication requesting nominations will be sent Friday, July 8
and a deadline set of Monday, July 11 to deliver nominations to the league
office.
• The WCL president is to create a ballot and distribute it to the head
coaches on Tuesday, July 12. The deadline to submit votes is Monday,
July 18.
• The WCL All-Stars are be named on Tuesday, July 19 (a week prior to the
game).
• The Major League Scouting Bureau will
identify 12 must-see WCL prospects to compete in the
All-Star Game. These prospects will be identified by Monday, July 18 and all
12 will be invited to the All-Star Game and named
All-Stars.
• Some may also be voted in by fans and the coaches.
• The first 21 of 42 roster spots will be determined by vote (9) and
selection by the MLB Scouting Bureau (12). With overlap
(i.e- a voted in player by the fans could also be named by the MLB Scouting
Bureau), this number may be lower.
• The remaining spots are to be filled by inserting the top vote getters as
voted on by the head coaches.
• Players must be on a team’s roster by July 1 to qualify for All-Star
selection.
• All injury replacements are to be named by the WCL president, at his
discretion.
• The MLB Scouting Bureau is to name a Top Prospect and MVP following the
game (as voted on by the scouts in attendance).
• The honorees and Home Run Derby winner are to be recognized immediately
following the game by the MLB Scouting Bureau
Home Run Derby
• A home run derby, with wood bats, is to be held after batting practice.
• Each member team is to designate its one participant
(does not have to be an All-Star, but must be an active player).
• Each contestant gets 10 outs.
• The 4 players with the most home runs move to the semi-finals.
• Each semi-finalist gets 5 outs.
• The two players with the most homers in the semis move to the finals.
• Each finalist get 5 outs.
• Ties are to be broken in the first two rounds by tallying the most home runs hit before the player recorded his third out
• If still tied, before the second out, if still tied, before first out, if still
tied, flip a coin.
A tie in the finals will be broken by adding 3 more outs.
• A coach from each team will be selected to throw home run derby bp.
Coaches
• Coaches for the game will be selected on July 18.
• The head coaches will be picked based on team records (as of July 18).
• The first place team head coach in the East and West will be selected as All-Star head coaches.
• The head coaches can select one or two assistants from another team or their team.
The Game
• The home All-Star team is to wear whites, and the road greys.
• If the game ends in a tie after 9 innings
• Each head coach will name one slugger from its team to compete in a 5 out homer-off to determine the game’s winner.
• This will happen immediately after the game prior to the awards ceremony.
